After graduating from The Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Katrina joined the Trackdown team in Sydney, Australia. Her work here led to opportunities in film music as she began her career cutting music to animation. Under the mentorship of Simon Leadley at Trackdown, she also learned the craft of recording and engineering, ranging from recording orchestras to studio albums.
In 2006, Katrina relocated to Los Angeles. She has been very fortunate to work with highly talented composers including: Alan Menken, Elliot Goldenthal, John Powell, Steve Jablonsky, Deborah Lurie, Henry Jackman, James Dooley, Atli Orvasson, and most recently, Hans Zimmer.
While working with great filmmakers including Michael Mann, Peter Berg, David Gordon Green, Jon Chu, Ruben Fleischer, Lasse Hallstrom and Steve McQueen, Katrina’s film credits include “Hancock,” “Public Enemies,” “Your Highness,” “GI Joe 2,” “Gangster Squad,” “Hairspray,” “Mirror Mirror,” “Safe Haven” and “12 Years A Slave.”
Katrina enjoys being involved in the development of the musical tone and story of a film, while also supporting the composing process to elevate and help deliver creative, emotional and innovative scores.
